On This Day - 1967

Roger Hunt breaks the clubs goalscoring record by netting his 242^nd Liverpool goal, in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup against TSV Munich, as the team smash eight. He leaves the club in 1969 to sign for Bolton Wanderers with 286 goals to his name. Hunt would maintain this record for another 23 years, until Ian Rush finally surpasses his tally.
