Liverpool
look set to make a move for highly-rated defender Stefan De Vrij.
De Vrij,
who is currently at Feyenoord, has attracted interest from a host of Premier
League clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle
United.
The
Dutchman turned down a move last summer to England, as he committed his future
to Feyenoord.
This
arguably paid off as he was made captain, taking over from Ron Vlaar, who
signed for Aston Villa.
But
Feyenoord are ready to cash in and Liverpool are making the most headway in
terms of trying to grab his signature.
It is
believed that a fee of £8m will be enough for Liverpool to land their man.
De Vrij
could be just the man they are looking for as the Dutch outfit have kept four
clean sheets from their first nine Eredivisie fixtures.
