Athletic Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa has reiterated the
club's stance that they will not be selling Fernando Llorente in January.
The Spanish international has started just one game this
season, after declaring in the summer he would not be signing a new deal.
Bilbao's fans have vented their frustration with the player,
and this was followed up by Bielsa's decision to drop him.
Despite his reluctance to start with him, Bielsa insists that
Llorente will be staying put until the summer. Llorente has already stated he
will be leaving next summer when his contract expires.
"Llorente is an important player in this club and we
need his presence this season," said Bielsa.
"The club have decided that he follows with us until
June, and that is good for the squad."
Juventus, Arsenal and Liverpool are amongst a plethora of
clubs being linked with Llorente.
