On This Day - 1984


Jim Beglin makes his Liverpool debut over a year after signing for the club for £20,000 from Shamrock Rovers. He starts on the left-hand side of midfield in a league game against Southampton. He eventually makes his left full-back his own under the management of Kenny Dalglish, going on to play 98 league games for the club, before breaking his leg, costing him a place in the side.
