Vitesse Arnhem have issued a hands-off warning to clubs
interested in Liverpool and Chelsea target Wilfried Bony.
The striker, who joined Vitesse from Sparta Prague in 2011,
has been in electrifying form this season, finding the back of the net 15 times
in 14 league games.
His exploits have unsurprisingly attracted attention from
Premier League clubs, with both Liverpool and Chelsea identifying him as the
solution to their forward problems.
The Ivorian's goals have boosted Vitesse's title challenge -
they're currently two points and two places away from top spot in the
Eredivisie.
And Vitesse general manager Erwin Kasakowski has ruled out a
January transfer by admitting he needs to keep the 23-year-old until the end of
the season in order to secure Champions League qualification.
"We have concrete plans to keep Bony on board at this
team," Kasakowski told De Telegraaf.
"We have already started discussions with his agent
behind the scenes. We will do an incredible amount to the team to make it as
strong as possible for the second half of the league season - and that includes
keeping Bony.
"Bony's important for this team. The important thing is
that he feels at home in this team. We absolutely want to keep him."
